Learn Coding for Brother Printers

Tom has been in the industry for over 40 years working for companies such as QMS, HP and Brother. He has been with Brother close to 20 years working primarily for Marketing and Shared Services in a technical role supporting BSI and other Brother applications for the last ten years.

Berard began his career in technology at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas specializing in laboratory and office automation. He continued his journey in technology to AST Computers and Oki Data Americas before joining Brother 13 years ago. Currently, Berard is a member of the Brother’s Solution Development Group, supporting 3rd party developers and developing custom solutions for Brother’s business customers.

Ira has worked in software development and product management for companies such as Schering-Plough, Dun & Bradstreet, and Information Builders. At Brother he is a member of the Special Solutions Teams, developing vertical solutions for business customers.

Hector has been in the IT industry since 1990, beginning by repairing computer systems and printers at the component level. Over time, he has earned certification on all major computer and printer brands and is trainer certified for HP and Brother devices. At Brother International for over 18 years, he manages the Field Solutions Engineering group. Hector’s main role is to support sales and Brother customers, providing solutions that improve or automate their device deployments and workflows.

In 1999 Tommy started at Brother’s global headquarters in Nagoya, Japan, developing Raster Image Processing (RIP) software for wide format. In 2010 he began developing the embedded (firmware) implementation of the Brother Solutions Interface (BSI), the focus of this hackathon. Tommy also assists third party developers who build print management and document workflow solutions integrating BSI, PaperCut, SafeQ, Kofax, and other solutions. In his current role he is developing replenishment services of consumable printer supplies for Brother USA, e.g., the Brother Refresh EZ Print Subscription.
